The Best of Cooperative Games DVD ![]() |
||||||||||||||
Dale N. Le Fevre presents an excellent addition to the New Games
materials – a DVD that's fun and highly useful. Includes descriptions
with a skill guide for each game. Any group leader or teacher can use
these games with his/her group and get a positive response. Teachers and other group leaders will be glad to know that Cooperative Games are more than just fun, (though they are certainly that!), for they teach or reinforce basic skills in math, English, environmental awareness, teamwork, creative thinking and expression, concentration, listening, and memory. Cooperative Games also include important developmental skills that every child needs to promote learning and social skills. The video introduces teachers and students to games that cultivate physical experiences – like throwing, catching, running – and social experiences, such as cooperation, and inclusion. Best of all, these are enjoyable games that actively involve everyone. Watch the smiles on the faces of your players when they play Cooperative Games. Various ages of elementary school children will be shown doing the games with a few from high school aged kids. These games are especially appropriate for coed programs. Most games presented here work with adults, too. Running time: 60 min. (26 games are presented) Format: DVD only Retail Price: $29.99 (plus tax in CA) To order within the United States:

The Best of Cooperative Games DVD: Each game on the DVD is 2 to 3 minutes long and includes a full explanation, demonstration, and is played enough to show how it looks in action. What is shown here first are clips from a number of the games taken from the introduction with music from the same place. Following this are video and audio extracts from one of the games, Borrow It, where the goal is to get the other team's objects to your base. You can't guard the base and you can only take one object at a time, bringing the object back and placing it in your base. Each team starts at their base. If you use the quick
download, the quality will not be
very good but it will only take 1-2 minutes (if you are using a modem) and
give you an idea of what the game looks like. The slow
download will give you a much better
resolution but will take 3-5 minutes if you are using a modem. You will
need QuickTime Player
to view the samples. If you do not already have it, click
here to download it for free. |
