AUDIENCE: Primary to Adult This instructional video would be useful for parents as well as for adults working with youth groups. Ranging from a simple game made from an egg carton to a labyrinth constructed of wood, these games for elementary and older children can be built at home or school using materials from the hardware store, arts and crafts store, and home. A coping saw (or hole saw) and drill are required for the more complicated games. A very brief set of instructions accompanies the video; both the video and brochure are necessary for the novice carpenter. While this video is an English release, the original video was produced in Germany and the viewer will see German calendars and other crafts utilized in the video. All of the measurements are given in metric as well as imperial, with a conversion formula provided in the guide. The technical quality of the video is adequate for instructional purposes. Closeups are used to illustrate steps; however, not every step of construction is shown. The pace is slow. This video has a couple of interesting games that children would enjoy making and playing.
